•      Protesting rubber and oil palm growers clashed with police and resumed their highway blockade in Cha-uat district of Nakhon Si Thammarat province just hours after officers cleared the demonstration Monday morning.

       About 70 police officers were injured in the clashes and about 10 police vehicles were set alight in the scuffle.

       Protesters also seized a Thai PBS TV production truck and erased footage of the clash.

       There were several injuries on both sides, including two protesters - a man and a woman - who were shot in their legs. It was not clear who fired the shots. Both were taken to Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital.

       Pol Maj Gen Thawat said the situation has become worse to the point where it is now beyond the scope of the public disaster prevention law under which police have so far handled the protests. Civic groups set up own reform body  กลุ่มพลเมืองตั้งองค์กรปฏิรูปของตนเอง

About 45 civic groups Sunday launched their own political reform body เมื่อวันอาทิตย์ ประมาณ 45 กลุ่มพลเมืองตั้งองค์กรปฏิรูปการเมืองของตนเอง which will work in parallel with the government's reform forum. ซึ่งจะทำงานคู่ขนานไปกับเวทีปฏิรูปของรัฐบาล

Officially called the People Assembly Reforming Thailand (Part) เรียกชื่ออย่างเป็นทางการว่า สภาประชาชนปฏิรูปประเทศไทย (สปท) , the body has been formed to push for a "just, secure and happy society". องค์กรนี้ถูกตั้งขึ้นมาเพื่อผลักดันให้เกิด “สังคมที่ยุติธรรม มั่นคง และเป็นสุข”

The principle behind the formation of the Part is หลักการหลังการก่อตั้ง สปท คือ to return power to the people, คืนอำนาจให้แก่ประชาชน get rid of monopoly and ultra-capitalism ขจัดการผูกขาด และระบอบทุนนิยมสุดขั้ว and create a fair and happy society. และสร้างสังคมที่เป็นธรรมและเป็นสุข

Mr Suriyasai said after the launch that นายสุริยะใสกล่าวหลังการเปิดตัว (สปท.)ว่า the committee would meet on Sunday at Rangsit University คณะกรรมการจะประชุมกันในวันอาทิตย์ที่มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต to lay down the framework for its work. เพื่อวางกรอบการทำงาน

An assembly would be organised soon สมัชชาจะ(ถูก)ก่อตั้งขึ้นในไม่ช้า to mark the 40th anniversary of the Oct 14 student uprising. เพื่อฉลองครบรอบ 40 ปีเนื่องในวันเหตุการณ์ 14 ตุลาฯ

Representatives from 77 provinces ตัวแทนจาก 77 จังหวัด would be invited to share their views about reforms. จะถูกเชิญมาร่วมแสดงความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการปฏิรูป

He said the committee would also go on a tour to meet respected public figures, เขา(นายสุริยะใส)กล่าวว่า นอกจากนี้ คณะกรรมการจะเดินสายไปพบบุคคลสาธารณะที่ได้รับความเคารพนับถือ such as Prawase Wasi, to ask for their insights เช่น (นายแพทย์)ประเวศ วะสี เพื่อขอรับฟังวิสัยทัศน์จากท่าน. The panel would also seek opinions from red-shirt leaders such as Charan Dittha-apichai คณะกรรมการยังจะขอความคิดเห็นจากผู้นำคนเสื้อแดง เช่น จรัล ดิษฐาอภิชัย  , and victims of political violence และเหยื่อของความรุนแรงทางการเมือง , such as Payao Akkahad เช่น  พะเยาว์  อัคคฮาด, mother of a volunteer medic แม่ของอาสาพยาบาลคนหนึ่ง  shot and killed during the mayhem in 2010. (ซึ่งถูก)ยิงเสียชีวิตระหว่างเหตุการณ์วุ่นวาย(ทางการเมือง)เมื่อปี 2553

Among the 45 groups ใน 45 กลุ่ม (พลเมือง)ที่ร่วมนี้  were the People's Democratic Force to Overthrow Thaksinism (Pefot) มี กลุ่มกองทัพประชาชนโค่นระบบทักษิณ (กปท.), which is rallying at Lumpini Park ซึ่งกำลังชุมนุมประท้วงที่สวนลุมพินี, Thai Spring กลุ่มไทยสปริง, the multi-coloured shirts group, กลุ่มเสื้อหลากสี and the Siam Samakkhi group. และกลุ่มสยามสามัคคี

He said a team of advisers was also appointed เขา(นายสุริยะใส)กล่าวว่า ทีมที่ปรึกษาจะถูกแต่งตั้งขึ้นด้วย to help the committee. เพื่อช่วยคณะกรรมการ

They include พวกเขา (ทีมที่ปรึกษา) ประกอบด้วย. Pol Gen Vasit Dejkunjorn, พลตำรวจเอก วสิษฐ เดชกุญชร founder of the Thai Spring movement ผู้ก่อตั้งกลุ่มไทยสปริง , Sangsit Piriyarangsan, สังศิต พิริยะรังสรรค์ dean of the College of Social Innovation at Rangsit University, คณบดีวิทยาลัยนวัตกรรมสังคม มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต and ex-PAD member Pibhop Dhongchai. และอดีตสมาชิก พธม.พิภพ ธงไชย

Mr Pibhop said Sunday that นายพิภพ กล่าวเมื่อวันอาทิตย์ว่า  the campaign had received a warm welcome from civic groups. การรณรงค์ได้รับการต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่นจากกลุ่มพลเมือง However, hard work lies ahead อย่างไรก็ตาม งานหนักยังรออยู่ข้างหน้า for the campaign to gain acceptance สำหรับการรณรงค์ที่จะให้ได้รับการยอมรับ from all concerned parties. จากทุกฝ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้อง

Mr Pibhop said the government-sponsored charter amendments นายพิภพกล่าวว่าการแก้ไขรัฐธรรมนูญที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากรัฐบาล fail in addressing political reform. ไม่ได้แก้ปัญหาการปฏิรูปการเมือง
