ฝึก What ...? เป็นร้อย ๆ ประโยค เพื่อใช้ในการสนทนาภาษาอังกฤษ

มีหลายลิงก์ที่แนะนำการตั้งคำถามโดยใช้ 5W + 1H, ประโยคพวกนี้มักจะใช้บ่อยในการสนทนาเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ

       ในความเห็นส่วนตัว What... ? คือถามว่า "อะไร...?" เป็นคำที่ใช้ตั้งคำถามมาก อาจจะมากที่สุดก็ได้ และโครงสร้างของประโยคคำถามที่ตั้ง เท่าที่เห็นก็มีอยู่ 4 แบบ คือ
【1】 What + is/am/are/was/were ซึ่งเป็นกริยาแท้ ? เช่น

  • What is your name? คุณชื่ออะไร
  • What's the time? กี่โมงแล้ว

【2】 What + กริยาช่วย ? เช่น

  • What do you feel about that? คุณมีความรู้สึกเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนั้นอย่างไร
  • What does your best friend like? เพื่อนสนิทของคุณชอบอะไรบ้าง
  • What would you like to know? คุณอยากจะทราบเรื่องอะไร
  • What did you watch at the cinema? ดูอะไรมาที่โรงหนัง
  • What do you do? คุณทำงานอะไร?
  • What are you doing after class? คุณจะทำอะไรหลังเลิกเรียน
  • What are you talking about? คุณกำลังพูดเกี่ยวกับอะไร?

【3】 What + กริยาแท้ ? เช่น

  • What makes you come here? อะไรทำให้คุณมาที่นี่
  • What anger you? อะไรทำให้คุณโกรธ
  • What happened? อะไรเกิดขึ้น
  • What please you most on the trip to Tokyo? อะไรที่คุณชอบมากที่สุดตอนไปเที่ยวโตเกียว

【4】 What + คำนาม + อื่น ๆ เช่น

  • What time is it? เวลาเท่าไร
  • What subjects should we take this term? เทอมนี้เราจะเรียนวิชาอะไรบ้าง
  • What province are you from? คุณมาจากจังหวัดอะไร
  • What kind of book is that? อันนั้นเป็นหนังสือประเภทอะไร

       แต่จากประสบการณ์ของผม แม้การตั้งประโยค What...? จะง่ายตาม pattern ที่แสดงข้างบน แต่เราควรฝึกอ่าน-ฝึกพูด-ฝึกฟัง ให้มันคล่องชนิดเป็นอัตโนมัติไปเลย พอนึกจะพูดก็พูดได้ ไม่ต้องมาเสียเวลานึกว่า What จะต้องต่อด้วย ไอ้นั่น ไอ้นี่ และการเจอประโยคตัวอย่างเยอะ ๆ เป็นร้อย ๆ ประโยค อ่านจนคุ้นตา และฝึกพูดออกเสียงถาม What... ? ให้คุ้นปาก จะช่วยให้เราคล่องเป็นอัตโนมัติ คือคล่องที่จะถามเขาด้วย What...? และเข้าใจเมื่อถูกเขาถามด้วย What...?
