สวัสดีครับ

       เรื่องหนึ่งที่ภาษาอังกฤษกับภาษาไทยไม่ค่อยจะตรงกันคือ คำกริยา+คำบุพบท อย่างเราพูดภาษาไทยว่า “คุณไม่เคยฟังฉันเลย” แปลเป็นภาษาอังกฤษว่า “You never listen to me.” ถามว่า ทำไมต้องมี to ด้วย, พูดว่า You never listen me. ไม่ได้หรือ, ก็คงได้มั้ง, เพียงแต่ว่า ตอนที่ฝรั่งพูดเขามี to ถ้าเราจะพูดให้ถูกต้องอย่างเขา, เราก็น่าจะมี to ด้วย, บางคนบ่นว่า ไม่ชอบวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ เพราะไม่ชอบท่องจำ (พูดออกแนวดูถูกนิด ๆ ว่า เป็นวิชาที่ไม่ต้องคิดวิเคราะห์ อาศัยแต่ท่องจำ) แต่ผมจะบอกว่า เจ้าของภาษาเขาก็ไม่ต้องจำหรอก เพราะเขาพูดมาตั้งแต่เกิด เราเองจะพูดภาษาของเขา ก็เป็นธรรมดาที่จะต้องลงทุนจดจำบ้าง

      หมายเหตุ: ถ้าในดิก Cambridge มันโชว์ว่าใช้ preposition ตัวอื่น ก็ไม่ต้องสงสัยหรอกครับ เพราะแสดงว่า verb ตัวนี้ สามารถต่อด้วย preposition ได้หลายตัว ในบริบทที่อาจจะแตกต่างกันไป, ท่านก็สังเกตไปเรื่อย ๆ, จดจำไปเรื่อย ๆ แล้วกันครับ
