       ตอนเรียนอยู่ชั้นมัธยมผมชอบวิชาเรียงความมาก เห็นว่ามันช่วยฝึกสมอง  ในวิชานี้เราต้องหาข้อมูลบวกความเห็นและเขียนลงไป ทำให้คนอ่านรู้และเข้าใจเรื่องที่เราเล่า และเห็นด้วยกับความเห็นของเรา เรียงความจึงเป็นวิชาที่มีประโยชน์ ยาก และท้าทายความสามารถ ผมไม่สนใจว่าวิชานี้มีคะแนนมากหรือน้อย เพราะประโยชน์สำคัญกว่าคะแนน

       ถ้าท่านไปสอบ IELTS เขาจะให้เราเขียนเรียงความหรือ essay อย่างนี้แหละในหัวข้อ Academic หรือ General IELTS Writing sections, essay 1 เรื่องยาวอย่างน้อย 250 คำหรือประมาณ 4-5 ย่อหน้า ถ้าเขียนจบได้ภายใน 40 นาทีก็ดี  เรื่องที่เขียนเป็นหนึ่งในหลายหัวข้อที่กำหนดไว้แล้ว   

       หัวข้อหรือประเด็นที่เป็นโจทย์ essay ข้างล่างนี้ ท่านลองอ่านคำสั่งต่อท้ายดูซีครับ:

• Use examples anddetails in your answer.
• Use reasons and specific examples to support your choice.
• Explain your choice, using specific reasons and details.
• Do you support or oppose the…? Explain your position.
• Compare these two approaches to life. Which approachdo you prefer? Explain why.

       การจะเขียน essay ให้ได้ดีตามโจทย์ จะต้อง 1)มีข้อมูล 2)เลือกข้อมูลที่มีอยู่ออกมาเขียน 3)สามารถนำเสนอข้อมูลได้อย่างชัดเจน สมเหตุผล มองรอบด้านหลายมุม น่าสนใจ 4)ทำเสร็จภายในจำนวนคำและเวลาที่กำหนด
