2 อัจฉริยะของโลก: Leonardo da Vinci และ Albert Einstein
สำหรับท่านที่ศึกษาภาษาอังกฤษ ผมอยากจะเสนอว่า ท่านอย่าไปมองว่าการฟิตภาษาอังกฤษมันเป็นงาน ภาระ หน้าที่ ความรับผิดชอบ หรืออะไรในทำนองนั้นที่หนักและน่าเบื่อหน่าย ถ้าจะให้ดีก็น่าจะมองให้มันสนุกว่า มันคล้าย ๆ กับการท่องเที่ยวที่ทั้งสนุกและเปิดหูเปิดตาแถมบางทีได้เพื่อนอีกด้วย เพราะฉะนั้น เราก็น่าจะหาโอกาสเที่ยวให้มันหลากหลาย อย่างเช่นเราเป็นคนไทยและเที่ยวเมืองไทย ก็ไปเที่ยวทั้งภูเขา ป่า วนอุทยาน ชายทะเล เกาะ เมือง วัด พิพิธภัณฑ์ อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ เทศกาล งานขายของ งานกิน งานเที่ยว งานช็อปปิ้ง ถนนคนเดิน เขื่อน สิ่งก่อสร้างที่สวยงาม ฯลฯ พูดง่าย ๆ ก็คือถ้าที่ไหนพอจะไปเที่ยวได้ ไม่ลำบาก และไม่ทำให้ตัวเองและครอบครัวเดือดร้อนขัดสน ก็น่าจะไปเที่ยวให้ทั่ว ๆ เพราะการท่องเที่ยวเป็นกำไรของชีวิต
เมื่อเราศึกษาภาษาอังกฤษผ่านตา(อ่าน,ดู), ผ่านหู(ฟัง), ผ่านปาก(พูด) และผ่านมือ(เขียน) เราก็น่าจะแสวงหาเนื้อหามาให้ตัวเองได้ผ่านทั่ว ๆ ให้มันหลากหลาย และมองให้มันสนุกว่าสิ่งที่ผ่านนั้นคือกำไรของชีวิต ไม่ใช่เป็นภาระ และแม้ว่าสิ่งที่ผ่านนั้นเราอาจจะเข้าใจได้ไม่ทั้งหมด ก็ไม่เป็นไร อย่างเช่นเราได้มีโอกาสไปเที่ยวพิพิธภัณฑ์ หรืออุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ แม้สิ่งของที่โชว์ในนั้น เราจะเข้าใจบ้าง ไม่เข้าใจบ้าง แต่ถึงยังไงเราก็ได้ผ่านตาและรู้อะไรมากขึ้น เมื่อกลับบ้านถ้าได้อ่านหนังสือเพิ่มเติม และได้กลับไปเที่ยวซ้ำอีกครั้ง ก็จะได้ทั้งความเพลิดเพลินและเปิดหูเปิดตามากกว่าเดิมอีกหลายเท่า
การเปิดหูเปิดตาท่องเที่ยว กับการเปิดหูเปิดตาศึกษาภาษาอังกฤษ ไม่ต่างกันเลยแม้แต่นิดเดียว ขอให้เราใจเย็น ๆ ใจกว้าง ๆ ไม่ต้องคิดมาก และเราจะได้กำไรชีวิตทุกครั้งเมื่อดึงเนื้อหาภาษาอังกฤษให้เข้ามาสู่ชีวิตเรา
อย่างในเว็บ e4thai.com นี้ ผมก็พยายามหานั่นหานี่มาชวนท่านเข้าไปเที่ยวชม อย่างวันนี้ก็จะชวนท่านชมประวัติของ 2 อัจฉริยะของโลก คือ Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) และ Albert Einstein(1879-1955) สองคนนี้เกิดห่างกันประมาณ 400 ปี
ผมเข้าใจว่าทุกท่านก็คงทราบประวัติของ 2 ท่านนี้มาบ้างไม่มากก็น้อย ถ้าใช้สำนวนบ้าน ๆ ก็ต้องบอกว่า 2 ปรมาจารย์นี้เก่งขั้นเทพทั้งบุ๋นและบู๊ ทั้งวิทยาศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ มีจินตนาการกว้างไกลเกินยุคสมัยของตัวเอง ถ้าจะเข้าไปอ่านประวัติของท่านก็ได้ครับ

สำหรับท่านที่สนใจศึกษาไบเบิ้ล น่าจะชอบ
วิธีฝึกฟังข่าว ที่ดูไม่ขลัง ไม่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ แต่สรรพคุณสูงมาก
วิธีฝึกพัฒนา listening skill นั้น ก็มีมากมายหลายวิธี และเป็นการยากที่จะบอกว่าวิธีใดดีที่สุด แต่ที่แน่ ๆ ก็คือต้องฝึกฟังบ่อย ๆ
ผมเองเป็นคนชอบข่าวเพราะรู้สึกว่าให้ความรู้ เมื่อผมฝึกภาษาอังกฤษ ผมจึงฝึกด้วยวิธีอ่านข่าวและฟังข่าวมากกว่าวิธีอื่น และเมื่อแนะท่านผู้อ่าน ก็อดไม่ได้ที่จะเอาวิธีที่ตัวเองชอบและฝึกได้ผลมาแนะ ผมรู้ครับว่าวิธีฝึกอังกฤษจากข่าวอาจจะไม่ใช้วิธีที่เหมาะที่สุดสำหรับทุกคน แต่กระนั้นผมก็เชื่อว่า มันต้องมีประโยชน์บ้างไม่มากก็น้อย และไม่เสียเวลาเปล่าแน่ ๆ
วันนี้ผมขอแนะวิธีฝึก listening โดยการฟังข่าว "ซ้ำ ๆ"
การฟังข่าวซ้ำ ๆ หมายความว่า สมมุติว่าท่านมีโควตาเวลาสำหรับการฝึกฟังวันละ 30 นาที ท่านก็ฟังอยู่แค่ 1 - 2 ข่าวก็พอ โดยเป็นข่าวสั้น ๆ ยาวแค่ 2 - 3 นาที หรืออย่างมากไม่เกิน 5 นาที แต่ให้ฟังซ้ำแล้วซ้ำอีก ๆ ๆ อยู่นั่นแหละ การฟังซ้ำมีประโยชน์ยังไง? มีประโยชน์อย่างนี้ครับ
[1] เมื่อฟังในเที่ยวหลัง ๆ ศัพท์/สำนวน/วลี ที่ท่านฟังไม่เข้าใจ หรือจับไม่ได้ ในเที่ยวแรก ๆ ท่านจะค่อย ๆ ฟังออกมากขึ้น
[2] ยิ่งฟังซ้ำหลายเที่ยวยิ่งเข้าใจมากขึ้นทุกเที่ยว .... ท่านอาจจะเถียงว่า ฟังตั้งหลายเที่ยวแล้วก็แค่เข้าใจเป็นคำ ๆ หรือเข้าใจเนื้อหาโดยรวมไม่เกิน 50 % ผมขอเรียนว่า ท่านใจเย็นเถอะครับ ถ้าฝึกอย่างนี้ไปเรื่อย ๆ ไม่หยุด ท่านจะเข้าใจมากขึ้นเรื่อย ๆ ผมขอรับประกันครับ
[3] สิ่งที่ท่านจะได้โดยไม่รู้ตัว ก็คือการออกเสียง หรือ pronunciation และการลงเสียงหนัก หรือ stress ของคำหรือของประโยค เรื่องนี้ว่าไปแล้วมันก็พอสอนกันได้ แต่มันไม่เข้าใจเข้าไส้เท่ากับให้หูของตัวเองได้ซึมซับเสียงบ่อย ๆ และเวลาที่เราฝึกพูด accent ภาษาอังกฤษที่เราพูดออกไปมันก็จะไปในแนวเดียวกับเสียงที่เราฝึกฟังบ่อย ๆ นี่แหละ พูดง่าย ๆ ก็คือ ฝึกฟังบ่อย ๆ จะได้ทั้ง listening skill และ speaking skill
เราจะเริ่มต้นฝึกยังไง?
ผมขอแนะนำอย่างนี้ครับ คือข่าวที่มีคลิปให้เราฝึกฟัง(พร้อมดูข่าว)นั้น มักจะเป็นข่าวต่างประเทศ โดยถ้าเป็นข่าวดังจริง ๆ สำนักข่าวหลายแห่งก็จะเสนอข่าวนั้น เพราะฉะนั้นข่าวพวกนี้ ข่าวเดียวกัน จึงมีหลายคลิปของหลายสำนักข่าวให้เราคลิกฟัง ท่านทำอย่างนี้แล้วกันครับ (ทั้งหมดที่ผมแนะนำ เป็นการเปิดหน้าเว็บผ่านเบราว์เซอร์ Google Chrome นะครับ)

ในหลาย ๆ พาดหัวข่าวที่ท่านเห็น ขอให้ท่านเลือกสัก 2 ข่าวที่ท่านสนใจมากที่สุดในวันนี้ และ... (นี่สำคัญมาก) ขอให้ท่านลงทุนอ่านข่าวตั้งแต่ต้นจนจบ พยายามอ่านให้รู้เรื่องให้มากที่สุด และขอแนะนำให้ → ติดตั้ง add-on Dictionary ตัวนี้เพื่อเป็นตัวช่วย เมื่ออ่านจบแล้วก็ไปข้อ [2] ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องของการฟัง
[2] ให้ท่านไฮไลท์ลิงก์พาดหัวข่าวที่ท่านอ่านจบแล้วเมื่อตะกี้, คลิกขวา, คลิก Search Google for "Xxxx xxx xxx ....", คลิก วิดีโอ, และก็เลือกคลิกคลิปที่ท่านต้องการจะฟัง โดยขอให้ท่าน
- สังเกตชื่อลิงก์ของคลิป ขอให้มันสอดคล้องกับชื่อลิงก์ข่าวจาก นสพ. Bangkok Post
- สังเกต URL ของคลิป ให้มันต่างกันบ้าง เพื่อว่าท่านจะได้ฟังคลิปจากหลายแหล่ง เช่นจาก Reuters, YouTube, เป็นต้น
ก็เป็นอันว่า ท่านเลือกสัก 2 ข่าวที่ท่านสนใจจะฟัง, พยายามอ่านให้เข้าใจ, และก็ฟังซ้ำ ๆ หลาย ๆ เที่ยว
คำแนะนำแบบนี้ ฟังแล้วพื้น ๆ อย่างยิ่ง ดูไม่ขลัง ไม่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์อะไรเลย แต่ผมขอรับรองครับ ถ้าท่านทำตาม ท่านจะเห็นด้วยตัวเองว่า สรรพคุณสูงมาก แต่วิธีนี้ก็เหมือนกินยาต้มสมุนไพรตำรับชาววังโบราณที่ใช้แก้โรคภาษาอังกฤษอ่อนเพลีย ต้องกินติดต่อกันทุกวันเป็นเดือน ๆ ห้ามเว้น แม้รสจะขมขื่นก็ต้องทนกิน แต่ขอรับรองว่าอาการฟังภาษาอังกฤษไม่รู้เรื่องจะค่อย ๆ ทุเลาและหายไปในที่สุด
