พอเขียนมาถึงบรรทัดนี้ ผมมีความรู้สึกว่า ถ้าผมเกษียณจากงานหรือลาออก แค่เอาคำศัพท์พวกนี้มาอธิบายเป็นคอลัมน์ประจำที่เว็บ e4thai.com ก็มีงานทำไปได้อีกนาน หรือแปลพวก Usage note จากดิกเหล่านี้พิมพ์ขายก็น่าจะได้ เฮ้อ! อยากจะมีเวลาสักวันละ 40 ชั่วโมงจะได้ทำงานพวกนี้ได้ ท่านใดพอเจียดเวลาได้ เอางานพวกนี้ไปทำก็น่าจะพอหาเงินใช้ได้มั้งครับ

ต่อจากนี้ ปัญหาไม่รู้ศัพท์จะหมดไปโดยสิ้นเชิง...
เท่าที่สังเกตดู หลายท่านที่สนใจภาษาอังกฤษ จะเน้น speaking skill มากกว่าอย่างอื่น แต่จริง ๆ แล้ว reading skill ก็มีความสำคัญไม่น้อยกว่าอย่างอื่น เพราะทักษะการอ่านจะเป็นพื้นฐานอันมั่นคงที่ช่วยให้การฝึกฟัง, ฝึกพูด, และฝึกเขียน เป็นไปอย่างสะดวก, เป็นตัวช่วยที่ซื่อสัตย์และแข็งขัน เพราะฉะนั้น เราควรฝึกอ่านทุกวัน
เมื่ออ่านภาษาอังกฤษและติดศัพท์ สิ่งที่ต้องทำประการแรกคือเดา ไม่ใช่เปิดดิก การเดาอาจเป็นศาตร์ที่บางโรงเรียนอาจจะไม่ได้สอน ถ้าใครต้องการรู้ว่าเดาศัพท์เดาอย่างไร ลองอ่านที่นี่

ตามความเห็นส่วนตัว การที่เราจะเดาศัพท์ได้สะดวก เราควรรู้ศัพท์พื้นฐานไว้ก่อน ซึ่งจะเป็นบันไดให้เราปีนไปหาศัพท์ที่สูงขึ้นไปได้ง่ายขึ้น ลองศึกษาศัพท์พื้นฐานได้ที่นี่ครับ
