Bangkok Post Learning
Bangkok Post Learning
→ http://www.bangkokpost.com/learning/

Common mistakes and how to fix them" มีทั้งหมด 27 บท → คลิก ท่านจะลองอ่านนิดหน่อยก็ได้ครับ → คลิก

แต่เราก็ไม่ค่อยคุ้นที่จะจำ "call back" แปลว่า "โทรกลับ" หรือ "โทรหาอีกครั้ง", "sit" เราแปลว่า "นั่ง" แต่เมื่อไปเจอประโยค "We cannot just sit by and watch this tragedy happen." เราก็อาจจะพอเดาออกว่า "sit by" แปลว่า "นั่งเฉย ไม่ทำอะไรเพื่อป้องกันเรื่องร้ายไม่ให้เกิดขึ้น" แต่ศัพท์ 2 ตัวอยู่ติดกันนี่บางทีก็เดายาก เช่น "I can't understand what you see in her."
หรือบางทีคำเดียวกัน แต่ความหมายต่างกัน เช่น "go by" ในประโยคนี้ "Things will get easier as time goes by." "go by" ตัวนี้ แปลว่า "ผ่านไป" แต่ในประโยคนี้ "Only a fool goes by the rules all the time."
- (1) phrasal verb
โดยตามทฤษฎีนั้น เขาบอกว่า phrasal verb นั้น ความหมายรวมของ 2 คำนี้มันไม่ได้ตรงตัว เช่น see off, see = เห็น, off = ออกไป, พอรวมกัน see off = ไปส่ง (เช่น → My parents came to the airport to see me off.
ฉันไม่เชื่อว่าผีมีจริง แต่ถ้าเป็น phrasal verb ที่เดายาก อันนี้ก็ต้องดูให้ดีก่อนใช้ว่าเราพูดกับใครและเขาจะเข้าใจไหม เช่น "He had to give up drinking alcohol because it made him ill."
