ให้ Google Advanced Search ค้นหาเรื่องที่ตรงกับความต้องการมากที่สุด
สวัสดีครับ
ผมเคยได้ยินหลายคนพูดว่า สมัยนี้ไม่ว่าอยากจะรู้อะไร ถามอาจารย์กู(เกิ้ล)ได้ทุกเรื่อง ก็คือ พิมพ์คำค้นลงไปให้ www.google.com แล้วอาจารย์กูก็จะหาเรื่องที่ต้องการมาให้อ่าน
แต่ในประเด็นนี้ มี 2 เรื่อง ที่ผมอยากจะพูดเสริมเป็นพิเศษ
เรื่องที่ 1:
น่าจะเป็นเรื่องที่ทุกท่านรู้ดีอยู่แล้ว คือ ถ้าพิมพ์คำค้นเป็นภาษาไทย อาจารย์กูก็จะแสดงผลเป็นภาษาไทย แต่ถ้าพิมพ์คำค้นเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ อาจารย์กูก็จะแสดงผลเป็นภาษาอังกฤษเช่นกัน และก็อย่างที่รู้ ๆ กันอยู่แล้ว ข้อมูล และความรู้มากมายในโลกนี้บันทึกด้วยภาษาอังกฤษ เพราะฉะนั้นถ้าค้นด้วยคำค้นภาษาอังกฤษ ความรู้ที่ได้รับก็จะมากมายมหาศาลมากกว่าภาษาไทยหลายร้อยเท่า การฝึกอ่านภาษาอังกฤษให้คล่องจึงมีคุณอนันต์ด้วยประการฉะนี้
เรื่องที่ 2:
แม้ว่าจะค้นหาด้วยคำค้นภาษาอังกฤษ ถ้าเราต้องการข้อมูลที่เจาะจงตรงใจ เราควรค้นด้วย Google Advanced Search ซึ่งให้ผลดีกว่า Google Search ธรรมดา ๆ

ให้ท่านพิมพ์ key word ที่ต้องการค้นลงไป ตามความเหมาะสม
ส่วนบรรทัดข้างล่างจากนี้แหละครับ ที่ผมขอแนะว่า ถ้าเราหัดใช้ให้ชำนาญ จะช่วยให้การค้นของเรามีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น

ถ้าเราคลิกเลือก Thai ก็จะได้ผลการค้นเป็นภาษาไทย
ถ้าเราคลิกเลือก English ก็จะได้ผลการค้นเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ
หมายเหตุ: ถ้าท่านต้องการคำอธิบายเป็นภาษาไทย ในเนื้อหาที่เป็นภาษาอังกฤษ ก็ให้ท่านพิมพ์คำค้นเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ และคลิกเลือก Thai ที่ช่อง language นี้ เช่น passive voice หรือ English tenses

และอีกวิธีหนึ่งที่น่าสนใจก็คือเว็บที่ลงท้ายด้วย .edu ซึ่งเป็นเว็บไซต์ของสถาบันการศึกษา และ .org ซึ่งแต่ดั้งเดิมเป็นเว็บไซต์ที่ไม่หวังผลกำไร โดยปัจจุบันบางเว็บที่ลงท้ายด้วย .org ก็ยังเป็นเว็บลักษณะนี้ ท่านสามารถพิมพ์คำว่า .edu หรือ .org ลงไปในช่อง site or domain: ถ้าท่านต้องการเนื้อหาที่มาจากเว็บไซต์ของสถานศึกษา หรือ เว็บไซต์ที่ไม่เป็นธุรกิจหรือมีโฆษณามากนัก

ที่น่าสนใจมากก็คิอ ถ้าเราคลิกเลือก in the title of the page ก็แสดงว่า คำค้นที่เราพิมพ์ลงไปต้องปรากฏในชื่อเรื่อง เป็นการเน้นให้ Google ไปหาเรื่องที่เราต้องการจริง ๆ

เขาจะมี basic, intermediate, และ advanced ให้เราเลือก ถ้าเราเลือก basic ก็แสดงว่า เนื้อหาภาษาอังกฤษที่ Google จะหามาให้ จะง่ายเป็นพิเศษ นี่เป็นบริการที่ดีมาก สำหรับท่านที่ชอบอ่านเรื่องราวหลากหลาย แต่ไม่ยากเกินไป โดยให้ Google ช่วยกรองมาเฉพาะเรื่องที่ไม่ยากนัก
file type:
นี่เป็นอีกจุดหนึ่งที่น่าสนใจ เพราะเราสามารถระบุประเภทของไฟล์ที่ต้องการอ่าน คือ
คลิกเลือก pdf ถ้าต้องการไฟล์หนังสือ หรือ eBook
คลิกเลือก xls ถ้าต้องการไฟล์ excel เช่น บางครั้งคำศัพท์ดี ๆ ที่น่าสนใจก็พิมพ์อยู่ในไฟล์ excel
คลิกเลือก ppt หรือ PowerPoint อาจจะช่วยท่านทุ่นเวลาไม่ต้องทำไฟล์ PowerPoint ด้วยตัวเอง เพราะมีคนเขาทำไว้เรียบร้อยแล้ว ท่านเพียงดัดแปลงนิดหน่อยก็นำไปใช้ได้เลย
คลิกเลือก doc ถ้าต้องการไฟล์ word
คลิกเลือก swf ถ้าท่านต้องการไฟล์ flash ผมขอบอกว่าไฟล์ flash เป็นไฟล์ที่น่าสนใจมาก มีหลายคนใช้ทำนิทาน หรือแบบฝึกหัดภาษาอังกฤษ ที่เรียนแล้วไม่เบื่อ
ที่แนะนำมาทั้งหมดนี้ ผมอยากให้ท่านลองไปฝึกใช้ดู เมื่อคุ้นมือแล้ว ท่านจะพบว่า หลายอย่างที่เมื่อก่อนหาไม่เจอ ตอนนี้หาเจอแล้ว หรือหาได้เว็บที่ตรงใจมากกว่าเดิม
